In the list of high altitude lakes, also figures the name Kareri. It is a fresh water shallow lake at an altitude of 2834 m above the level of sea. It is located south of Dhauladhar range. The source of water is the snow, melting in the Dhauladhar range. This makes visibility of the lake bed very clear.
This lake is not connected by road. There is a trekking trail 13 km away from the adjoining village Kareri that leads up to it. Kareri lake is thus also a famous trekking destination.
